Projects: Italianate Novato Terraced Home                                              

Here the owners wished to create landscaping for their new grandiose Italianate Novato home in two phases: their entry front yard and then their steep hillside backyard.

Services Provided

• Planted a colorful deer-resistant front yard
• Built a beautiful wooden arbor for Wisteria to drape across
• Installed a subtle lighting system to draw you down the wandering entry path and highlight the Mimosa and Oak trees

• Shaped a spectacular swirl into the concrete patio and then mirrored that swirl in the hillside
• Terraced vegetable beds into steep hillside
• Strung miniature "vineyard" of Honeysuckle (Lonicera) to play to Italianate style
• Built a five-foot wide promenade of decomposed granite and wooden steps carved into the hillside to allow easy walking access throughout the large curving yard
